Your hands gripped my hips
Their ghosts grabbed my throat
My legs frozen now-not from birth
Your hands held droplets of holy oil
Burned straight through my skin
Taking me to hell
Silent screams bounced back
Swallowed in hibiscus tea
Spectators silenced by their own ghosts
Onlookers bore identical uniforms
Framed in archaic “tradition”
Robin egg walls swallowed
Swallowed the screams stuck in my throat
Mahogany bookshelves kept untold stories
Hibiscus tea, stone stairs, and unsolved mysteries
Holy oil burned through my youth
Left pounds of trauma to lose
Ghosts of handprints rest on hidden hip bones

Two flesh become one
Desire and love will come
My body tells me I like this
My mind takes me to an illusion of paradise
Far away from the silent screams
The screams only I could feel and hear
Bribed by backrubs
Brushing away the imprints of your hands
Imprints that seared the ghosts
Fueled their return
Blending old with new
Battling ghosts
Mismatched attraction
Unbeknownst to the players
Replaying tracks of trauma
